Terms of Service

1.What Doklo does

Doklo connects to a GitHub repository you choose, reads the code, and produces structured product documents we call Doks — each claim anchored to the code it came from. You review those documents, approve the ones you trust, publish approved ones as a help page at a public URL, and query them from AI agents over the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Doklo also watches connected repositories and marks documents whose underlying code has moved.

2.Your account

• You sign in with GitHub, with Google, or with a one-time link sent to your email. There is no password: we never ask for one and we store none.
• If you sign in with a provider that has verified the same email address you already use, we attach that sign-in method to your existing account. Unverified addresses are never attached to an existing account.
• Your email inbox is the key to your account. Keep it secure — anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
• You must be at least 16 years old. Doklo is a professional tool and is not directed at children.
• One person, one account. Creating extra accounts or workspaces to collect trial credits more than once is a breach of these terms, and we may reclaim the credits and close the accounts.

3.Connecting a repository

Doklo reaches your code through the Doklo GitHub App, which you install on the account or organization that owns the repository. The App asks for read-only access to repository contents and for the events that tell us a push happened. It never asks for write access to your code, and Doklo never pushes to your repository.

You must have the right to connect every repository you connect, and the right to let us process its contents as described in the Privacy Policy. You can withdraw access at any time from GitHub, and doing so stops all future analysis.

4.Plans, credits and fair use

A credit is the unit we meter generation with. One credit generates one Dok with Claude Sonnet; generating with Claude Opus costs 2.5 credits per Dok. Scanning a repository, reviewing documents, rendering and publishing them, drift detection and MCP queries consume no credits — you pay for generation, checking is free.

Free

• 60 trial credits, granted once per workspace when you first install the Doklo GitHub App. They are granted at installation rather than at sign-up, which is why a new account starts with a balance of zero.
• 1 project (one connected repository and its documents).

Pro — $19 per month

• 300 credits each month.
• Credits you do not use roll over for one month, then expire. Rollover never stacks beyond that one month.
• Up to 5 projects.
• Automatic sync for one repository — the others stay on runs you start yourself.
• Unlimited drift detection.
• Automatic regeneration of documents whose code changed, subject to fair use: automatic runs are batched and debounced, and sustained volume far beyond a normal single-team workload can be throttled after we tell you.

Credits are a metering unit inside Doklo. They are not money, cannot be transferred or sold, and have no cash value except where the Refund Policy says otherwise. Running out does not lock you out: you can connect your own Anthropic API key and keep generating on it (section 6).

Pro is opening in stages. Until it opens, the Pro plan takes waitlist registrations rather than payments.

5.Payments, renewal and taxes

Purchases are processed by Paddle, which is the Merchant of Record for all orders. Paddle takes the payment, issues the invoice, handles sales tax and VAT where they apply, and provides the customer portal linked from your receipt. Your card details go to Paddle and never reach our servers.

• Pro is billed monthly in advance and renews automatically until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not end the period you already paid for.
• Prices are in US dollars. Tax is added where Paddle is required to charge it.
• If we change the price of a plan you are on, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and you can cancel before it does.
• If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it and, if it keeps failing, downgrade the workspace to Free limits.

Refunds are covered by the Refund Policy, which is part of these terms.

6.Using your own API key

You can add your own Anthropic API key so that generation continues when your credits run out. If you do:

• The key is stored sealed with encryption and is never shown again after you save it. You can replace or delete it at any time, and deleting your account destroys it.
• We use it only to run the generations you start, and generations run on your key cost no Doklo credits.
• The Anthropic account is yours. You pay Anthropic for that usage, you are responsible for staying inside Anthropic's terms and usage policies, and their rate limits and outages become yours.

7.Your code, your documents, our software

• Your code stays yours. We claim no ownership of it, and we do not keep a copy of it (see the Privacy Policy).
• The documents Doklo generates from your repository are yours, as between you and us, the moment they are generated. Publishing, exporting, editing and deleting them are all your call.
• To run the service we need a licence to do the obvious things with that content: store, process, render, back up and — for pages you choose to publish — serve it publicly. The licence exists only to operate Doklo for you, and it ends when you delete the content or the account.
• We do not sell your content and we do not use your code or your documents to train models. Anthropic, the model provider Doklo runs on, states that it does not train its models on inputs submitted through its commercial API.
• A published page is readable by anyone who has its URL. Deciding what to publish is your responsibility, and it is worth checking a document before it becomes public.
• Doklo's own software, design, documentation and brand remain ours. These terms give you the right to use the service, not to copy it.
• If you send us feedback or a feature idea, we may use it without owing you anything for it.

8.What you may not do

• Connect a repository you do not have the right to connect.
• Use Doklo to process or publish content that is illegal, infringing, malicious, or designed to harm someone.
• Work around the credit meter, the plan limits or the trial grant — including by registering multiple accounts for the same person or organization.
• Attack or overload the service: automated scraping beyond documented API and MCP use, denial of service, probing other tenants' data, or bypassing rate limits.
• Resell Doklo or offer it as your own service without a written agreement with us.
• Reverse engineer the hosted service, except to the extent that law expressly allows it.

9.Availability and changes to the service

Doklo is early software. We ship changes often, and features can be added, changed or removed. We do not promise a specific uptime level yet, and analysis jobs depend on third-party services — GitHub and the model provider — that can be slow or unavailable.

If we make a change that materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will email you at least 30 days beforehand. You can then cancel, and we will refund the unused part of your prepaid period.

10.Ending the agreement

You can stop using Doklo whenever you like and close your account — from account settings, or by writing to us. Closing it destroys the workspace: its documents, published pages, stored GitHub installation records and any API key you added. Published URLs stop resolving. This is not reversible, and we cannot restore deleted content for you.

We can suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that creates legal risk for us or for another user, or whose payments keep failing. Where it is reasonable to warn you first, we will.

11.Disclaimers

Doklo is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

• We do not warrant that a generated document is accurate, complete or suitable for any particular use. Source anchors show where a claim came from; they do not prove it is right.
• A document marked fresh means the tracked source files still hash the same. It does not mean the document is semantically correct.
• Doklo is not legal, security, accessibility or compliance advice, and a Doklo document is not an audit.

12.Liability

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue or lost data. Our total liability for any claim relating to Doklo is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or US$100.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and for the statutory rights you have as a consumer.

You are responsible for the repositories you connect and the pages you publish, including claims that arise because you did not have the right to connect or publish them.

13.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the Seoul Central District Court has jurisdiction over disputes arising from them.

If you use Doklo as a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and it does not stop you bringing a claim in your local courts where the law gives you that right.

14.Changes to these terms

We will update this document as the product changes. The date at the top always says when. For changes that materially affect your rights or a paid plan, we will email account holders at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Doklo after a change takes effect means you accept it.
